As always one of the highlights of my trips is the good eats. Whether we eat out or Michelle cooks it’s always tasty; like the pan-fried Dover Sole with spinach and portabella mushrooms she made, or the barbequed pork chops with orzo salad. Her lamb curry stew with rice and Naam bread was delicious as well as the Fajitas with Beef loin flap meat steak with chipotle rub, and her chicken salad with orange flavored olive oil and orange zest and other yummy things was very delicious. It’s all good!
The Local coffee house is a pretty regular place for the Cates. I ordered a mocha and this is how it was served.
We went to Chris Madrid’s Mexican Restaurant and the food was really good. The waiter came by with an extra appetizer and offered it to us. We of course didn’t refuse it. It was individual nachos on chips.
We went to the Farmers Market in downtown San Antonio one Saturday morning and there’s a Culinary Institute Cafe nearby, so of course we had to go in. The pastry case was unbelievable. It was really hard to decide what to buy.
We took a trip to Austin for the day and went to a botanical garden, shopped at Whole Food’s flagship store and had lunch at Frank’s (Josh’s pick), along with a little sightseeing.
I think this is Josh’s lunch which was buffalo or something like that.
Yummy gravy fries.
I ordered a sausage dog with Kraut and sauce. It was very tasty.
