House Foundation ~ 7/27/2012

This has really been interesting watching how they are building this house.  It’s like nothing I’ve seen in California.

IMG_3888

The crawl space is more like the size of a basement.  I can literally walk around in there without bending over.

IMG_3891

I think Jonathan would find this process fascinating.

I thought the front steps would be added last.  Amber’s house still doesn’t have the steps on the front yet, but her house has been done differently because of her basement.

IMG_4028

They poured my garage Friday.

Michelle’s Birthday ~ 7/27/2012

All of the girls went to Childress Winery’s Bistro for lunch to celebrate Michelle’s birthday.

IMG_4003

All dressed up and ready for a tasty lunch.

IMG_4005

Emily is looking like her Mom more and more.

IMG_4009

This is the kids Mac & Cheese plate.

IMG_4010

My Italian Panini with Caesar Salad, it was really delicious and so much so that Abby helped me eat it.

IMG_4011

Emily’s Mediterranean pizza.  It was also delicious, and Emily really liked it too.

IMG_4012

Michelle’s Roast Beef Panini with sweet potato fries.  Those fries were heavenly.

IMG_4013

Michelle, Emily and Abby on the grounds of Childress Winery after lunch.

IMG_4016

I love this picture of Abby and Emily,  they’ve become  good friends.

IMG_4027

Can’t have a birthday without ice cream.

IMG_4024

So we had to make a stop at the ice cream shop.

IMG_4025

What do I want?

IMG_4026

This mail box was in the ice cream shop so I took a picture of it for Chris to see.  Not that I want one but I thought she might find it interesting.

Helping Dad with the Lawn

The boys got these lawnmowers from the Manmiller’s and they love them.  They are suppose to be bubble mowers, but  the bubbles don’t work.

IMG_3230

Jackson pushing his lawnmower any where he can get it to go.

IMG_3231

They push these mowers all over the 1 acre farm.  It’s too bad they really don’t cut the grass.

IMG_3232

A shame to let all that energy go to waste.

IMG_3233

Happy Mowing boys!!!

Emily’s 3rd Grade Promotion Dinner

The whole crew went to dinner at Sweet Peas Restaurant to recognize Emily’s hard work this past homeschool year.

IMG_3583

The kids loved the chalkboard wall . . .

IMG_3584

. . . and the animal and truck crayon holders on each table.

IMG_3585

This is a great place to take the kids for dinner.  Some friends of ours from church opened this restaurant in early April.  I can’t get enough of their Reuben’s and hot chips.  Makes me hungry just thinking about it.

IMG_3586

I was told that Emily’s name and the picture she drew on the blackboard stayed there for 3 weeks.

IMG_3589

This girl loves to read.

IMG_3590

A few gifts to make it special.

IMG_3594

Congratulations Emily!  A job well done!!

Play Dough From Auntie Chris

As you can see the kids loved the package they received from Auntie Chris.  Who wouldn’t?  They rolled out, pressed, shaped, shoved, patted, cut and stacked to their hearts content.

IMG_3768

Emily and Abby are really intent on the play dough.

IMG_3769

This stuff is great fun!

IMG_3770

IMG_3771Emily’s really takes the cake!

IMG_3772

I love Davis and Zachary’s techniques.

IMG_3774

IMG_3776

Is that a fish Davis?

IMG_3780

Jackson wasn’t too interested in the play dough.  What can I say that’s just Jackson.

IMG_3781

Zachary always has to have wheels, the play dough is just an added bonus.

Thanks Auntie Chris for loads of fun!!!

Tiger World ~ July 19, 2012

Dustin had the day off before he had to leave for Chicago so we decided to go to Tiger World.  We had bought the tickets a few months ago through Living Social and got the whole group in for a very reasonable price.

IMG_3940

At the entrance.

IMG_3938

They had some beautiful birds there as well.

IMG_3930

There were Bengal tigers, White tigers and Siberian tigers.

IMG_3905

This is a Jaguar.

IMG_3899

We were able to get pretty close to the tigers.

IMG_3901

This Baboon was pretty excitable so we decided to stand back and not provoke him.

IMG_3908

We went in the morning but it was starting to get hot so a lot of the tigers were resting.

IMG_3912

IMG_3913

This one decided to jump into the water tank.

IMG_3914

Time for a juice break for the kids.

IMG_3916

Two little cuties!

IMG_3921

They also had Lions at Tiger World.

IMG_3925

The kids enjoyed being able to walk around.

IMG_3932

IMG_3934

Another cutie!

IMG_3935

They had a few baby cubs and they were also cute.

IMG_3937

IMG_3941

After Tiger World we went into the little town of Faith and had lunch at Faith’s Soda Shop.
