Abby’s Angel Tree Gift

Abby and I were standing at the counter at church and she was waiting for me while I purchased my tickets for the Women’s Christmas Banquet.  Next to us were the angel cards for the Angel Christmas Tree.  They were about eye level for Abby and she kept looking at them so I asked her if she wanted to get one and she said, “yes.”  I told her to go ahead and pick one.   She picked a 6 year old girl whose name was Shanaonna.   Her Daddy is in prison and the Angel Christmas Tree is a ministry for children of inmates  for Christmas.  Shanaonna wanted a Barbie toy car.  Amazingly enough Walmart had one and it was 30 % off.  Abby and I wrapped it and she’s going to put it under the tree at church this Sunday.  The angel tree card had a short note on it for Shanaonna from her daddy and when I read the note to Abby she teared a little and said that made her sad,  but she was still excited to give her the Barbie doll and toy car.
