Screened back porch.  Definitely need it screened-in with all the mosquitos and bugs.  This is great for sitting out at night to watch the fireflies.

Vacation Bible School ~ 2013

All 3 of the kids were old enough to attend VBS this Summer so Amber and I volunteered to help with the crafts.  It was so well organized that the week went by like a breeze even though we had 50 kids in our 4 classes combined each night.

They started out by serving a meal to all the children who attended each night (90 total).  They sat them at a table according to their age with their teacher and helper.

Abigail with her teacher and helper.  It seemed to me and others that the children were much calmer coming in, sitting down to a meal, socializing with their classmates while eating and then watching a puppet show, and afterwards going off to their stations of music, bible verse memorization, a bible lesson and then outdoors for games.

VBS will stay with them all of their lives, it did with me.  I was 8 and that was when I first heard about Jesus and His love for me.

Blooming Hibiscus

I’ve had this pink hibiscus in this pot for three seasons and it never ceases to amaze me when the blooms come on, they are so huge.  In the winter the plant completely dies back but in the spring it starts growing like crazy.

The red ones below were planted by the landscapers so when they bloomed it surprised me.
